WOW WI Book Group ...latest update

WOW WI Book Group met at Loves Cafe Tuesday 12th March to discuss Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy. This classic describes two parallel stories reflecting the social mores and changes in Russian society an the late 1800s. Anna, married to Karenin begins a passionate affair with Count Vronksy and faces  society's disapproval for the open way in which she conducts herself. Vronksy and Anna travel to Europe leaving Russian society and her son behind but will there be a happy ending? Meanwhile Levin an idealistic politician and farmer struggles to achieve the much desired  family life  amid the growing social and political upheaval in Russia.
A very long book, most of us had only got half way through but were enjoying the book and it various stories.

Aprils s meeting of Book Group is at the earlier time of  7.15 pm in Loves Cafe. This month we are reading and  discussing Cross Stitch by Diana Gabaldon. New members always welcome...lets hope by then its a bit warmer!
