It's / was Christmas!! ....

A Happy New Year to all our members! It has taken me till the end of the festivities to update the blog and wrest the computer from the children!!
Busy making

Nicke's finished decoration

November was all about making table decorations with Nicke a tutor from Bridgwater College. She showed us to how to build a balanced decoration, using festive greenery, which we'd all brought and shared from our gardens. By doing this we could keep or decorations 'alive' until Christmas and add any fresh flowers nearer the time. There was so much creativity flowing and enjoyment, that Nicke was promptly invited back to make Easter baskets with us in March!
Our December meeting was truly festive - with Christmas jumpers, Christmas music, mince pies, Bucks Fizz, a Christmas quiz and chocolate.

Mandy from XocolaT gave us a yummy demonstration on how to make salted caramel Christmas pudding chocolates, including tasters along the way, and showed us how we can do this at home!
Use Lindt chocolate at home

Melt with a hairdryer

After coating the mould (you can use chocolate box inserts) pipe the salted caramel inside. You can buy this from supermarkets.

Carefully spoon over the top and leave to set

Pipe white chocolate icing

Mandy's details

There was a Christmas jumper competition judged by Mandy and a Christmas quiz. (Since the meeting I have discovered Lakeland do a good selection of chocolate making equipment and sell bags of the chocolate chips).
The pictures will do the talking for us!
